Stillbound · FAQ
What Stillbound and CaskIQ do, what they don't, and how your distillery's data is read, calculated, and kept. No jargon, clear boundaries.
CaskIQ is an operational intelligence platform for distilleries. It reads your cask register, calculates your current liquid position, flags compliance gaps, and tells you what needs action — without changing your existing systems.
CaskIQ does not file excise returns, provide legal or tax advice, or connect to your systems without your explicit action. Every output is labelled with its confidence level. Regulated decisions require human sign-off.
At minimum: a cask list with fill dates, fill volumes, and fill ABVs. Everything else — regauge records, warehouse locations, cask types — improves confidence but is not required for a first pass.
CSV, XLSX, XLS, PDF, DOCX and PPTX — a spreadsheet export, an accounts file, or any structured cask register. Files we can't map yet are flagged “Not yet” so you know they are logged for a future module, not silently dropped. Column mapping is handled during upload — you do not need a specific template.
Only users within your workspace. Your data is scoped to your tenant and never shared across distilleries. See our Data Processing Agreement for full detail.
You upload a file. CaskIQ maps your column headers to its data model, shows you what it recognised and what it could not map, and lets you confirm before anything is stored.
Missing data produces a confidence label, not a blank or an error. CaskIQ shows what it can calculate, what is partial, and what it needs to improve confidence. Missing regauges are flagged as a review action — not silently skipped.
Yes. Upload a new file at any time. CaskIQ records each ingest session separately so you can see how your position has changed.
Yes. Cask register and ingest history are exportable as CSV from Settings → Data. Compliance evidence pack export is coming soon.
In line with our Data Processing Agreement. You can request full deletion at any time from Settings → Data.
No. CaskIQ produces an excise evidence review pack — the data you would need to file, organised and flagged. In the Republic of Ireland that supports your Revenue Excise Return (filed through ROS); in Northern Ireland and Great Britain it supports your HMRC W1 warehouse return. The return itself requires human review and sign-off. We are clear about this boundary on every compliance output.
LOA is Litres of Alcohol — the total volume of pure alcohol in your bond. LPA is Litres of Pure Alcohol — the same measure, sometimes used interchangeably depending on jurisdiction. CaskIQ calculates both from your fill volume and ABV data.
A variance flag means the actual loss on a cask or cohort differs from the expected angel's share. It does not mean something is wrong — it means the difference needs review before it appears in a compliance return.
A cask that has not been regauged in more than 12 months will be flagged. This affects the confidence of your current volume and LPA calculation. CaskIQ tells you which casks need regauging and why it matters.
No. Compliance, tax, and legal questions are routed to human review. CaskIQ surfaces the data and the question — it does not answer regulated queries.
New Make is the pilot plan. It includes Liquid & Inventory, Compliance & Regulatory, and Risk & Operating Actions — lifetime access for qualifying pilot customers.
Upgrade options are shown in Settings → Plan & Billing. For Single Cask (founders rate) or Reserve (full platform), use the contact form — self-service upgrade will be available soon.
Paid plans can be cancelled at any time. New Make pilot access is lifetime — there is nothing to cancel.
CSV and XLSX upload is active today. Slack, HubSpot, Xero and DRAMS are planned. All planned integrations are visible in Settings → Integrations and will be enabled as they are built.
DRAMS integration is planned as a read-only connection — CaskIQ reads from DRAMS, it does not write to it. Timeline to be confirmed.
Yes — use the Suggest a Feature form. Integrations requested by multiple customers move up the build queue.
In a dedicated tenant partition on managed EU Postgres. Your data is never mixed with another distillery's data, and CaskIQ is hosted entirely in the EU.
No. Your data is used only to generate outputs within your workspace. It is not used to train models or shared with third parties. See our Data Processing Agreement.
Not yet certified. The architecture is built to SOC 2 standards — audit logging, row-level security, access controls, and dependency scanning are all in place. Certification is on the roadmap.
Settings → Data → Request data deletion. Processed within 30 days.
Tell us a little about your distillery and we'll come back with three things we'd look at — on your own numbers, in days, not weeks.
