Who we are
Distill is a whiskey-making simulator app developed by Stillbound, Ireland. When this policy says "we" or "us", that's who it means. You can reach us at hello@stillbound.ai.
What we collect and why
We keep this as minimal as possible.
App usage data
The current production candidate does not transmit analytics or advertising data. The analytics wrapper is present only as a future integration boundary and does not initialise a network SDK or send events in this build.
Whiskey profiles you create
The production choices you make — your grain selections, barrel choices, age statements, and the resulting flavour profiles — are stored locally on your device. These are your creations. We do not use them for advertising or sell them to third parties.
Push notification preferences
If you grant notification permission, we store your preference and use it to send you aging milestone notifications in Séamus's voice. You can withdraw this permission at any time in your device settings.
In-app purchase data
If you purchase Distiller Mode ($4.99), the transaction is handled entirely by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). We do not see, store, or process your payment details. We receive only a confirmation that the purchase was made.
What we do not collect
- Your name, email address, or any personal identification
- Your location
- Your social media profiles
- Any biometric data
- Any data from other apps on your device
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not rent it. We do not share individual user data with anyone for any purpose. We do not run advertising inside the app. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
Partner data sharing
The current production candidate does not share user data with partners.
Cookies and analytics
The app does not use advertising cookies or cross-app tracking. The current production candidate does not transmit analytics data.
Your rights under GDPR
You are entitled to:
- Access — ask us what data we hold about you
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Deletion — ask us to delete your data
- Portability — ask us to provide your data in a portable format
- Objection — ask us to stop processing your data

Data retention
Usage data is retained in aggregate form indefinitely for product improvement purposes. Your whiskey profiles are stored on your device. If you delete the app, your local data is deleted with it.
Children
Distill is an alcohol simulation app. It is not intended for anyone under the legal drinking age in their country. The app carries an 18+ rating on the App Store and Google Play. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. We will not fundamentally change how we use your data without notifying you through the app.
Complaints
If you believe we are handling your data incorrectly, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission (Ireland):
